Baking has been my longest love. I can’t quite remember when I started baking, but it was very very long ago. Growing up I remember my mom would always let us kids pick our birthday cakes out of the most extravagant + exciting cake book. It was always so magical! I will never forget choosing the cake + watching her bring it to life in our kitchen. I remember my mom would practice making sugar flowers + I couldn’t believe that something so pretty was also edible! I knew that I wanted to create beautiful things I could share with others too one day! And here we are!

In the thick of my husband and I’s long distance relationship I decided to  jump start my long time dream. Our son was nearly a  year old & I decided after lots of planning & preparing that I needed to launch a little cake business. I was in a new state, knowing absolutely no one, and yet it felt like the perfect time to begin! I did a very rough brand design, created an Instagram (without having any cute pictures of my bakes), and made a baking/posting schedule to get content out every week. Which meant every week I was making a cake for my family & after a few months of weekly cakes & cookies my Little cake page picked up! My people started finding me & its been an absolute dream ever since. Every week I learn something new & it doesnt ever feel “easy” per say but its been such a pleasure to do what I love for the sweetest people!

“Sweet Louise“ was planted in my mind years + years ago as I jotted down bakery name ideas just for fun. I’ve had it written down in a journal for over 9 years now. Purely as an idea. The idea began after wanting to include a part of me that I’ve always loved. My family name “Louise” has been passed down for years. I’ve always thought that was so special. My Italian great grandpa’s name was “Louis” + when my grandma was born they made her middle name the feminine version of his name. And now it has become a tradition to name the oldest daughter of our families “Louise” after him. And now I’m able to share this sweet part of who I am with the world.
